In 1982, game developer Infocom released Deadline, their first of many games that would include what they called "feelies".

From Abandonware DOS:

To make things more spicy, Infocom filled the game boxes with a lot of items and called them "feelies". Some of the feelies were used as a form of copy protection, others were there just to let the player "feel" the game outside the computer.

For example, from The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: check out order for the destruction of Arthur Dent's house and other feelies

I'm a huge fan of these kinds of things. For the Kickstarter for my book The Chairs' Hiatus I created CD jewel cases, ticket stubs, business cards, even tour shirts for the fictional band in the comic.

In the first issue of Incredible Doom we included a miniature version of the printer paper Allison holds in the comic.

People really seemed to love it. Which is why I'm excited to say that were going to start doing this with every issue.

Every member backing at $4 or above will get an extra physical item from the world of the story every two months along with the print version of the comic.

We included Feelies with every handmade comic through the Patreon-backed Series 1 and 2. Starting with Eternal September in 2023, Feelies are no longer included; subscribers now get other cool perks

This is so cool. We've been wanting to do this all along, but there are costs and time involved that we didn't know if we could take on. Your generous support and sharing of the project has made it possible.

The next feelie will come with issue #2. It's  a recreation of the mysterious note that Richard finds in his locker. You can see a video of it here. It looks so good!

I'm going to be taking them to the post office later next week, so if there's anyone you know who might want one please let them know to sign up before January 18th.

If you'd like you can share a tweet, or boost a Mastodon post that includes a neat video of the new feelie.

We couldn't do this without you. The fact that you support this project means the world to me. It makes me so happy to be able to send you cool things like this in return.
